Sandy Lane Nursery is a long-established wholesale tree, shrub and hedging grower based near Diss in Norfolk. Over the years we have continually received enquiries for the supply of trees or shrubs from potential customers who live outside our normal business area which we could not handle - mainly because of transport and care issues. However, recently we have linked up with a UK courier who will carry and care for our trees and plants to the standard we see as essential. Together with your delivered tree(s), you also have the option to include a tree stake and tie. Prices ShownIn the Online Trees section we have tried, as far as possible, to show the price you pay. The exception to this is pricing for delivery which is calculated on an order-value basis and will be confirmed in the Checkout area. Our TreesThe trees offered, (unless otherwise stated), are good quality bare-root specimens to the standard that our Garden Centre and Landscape Contractor clients insist upon. Within each description we will provide an indication of the age and height of the variety together with a photograph showing one similar to those we dispatch.
DeliveryWe aim to organise all orders for dispatch from the nursery within ten working days. (When ordering please provide a phone number so that our courier, John, can keep you informed of progress.) Once your order is ready for dispatch, John, will call to give you an indication of when he hopes to deliver. For more specific information about deliveries, and our terms of business, please click HERE. Bare Root, (Dormant), TreesIt is important, particularly for those who are fairly new to gardening, that we explain what bare-root means - planting-wise. Bare-root plants can generally, only be successfully planted between October and March, whilst they are dormant. In this state, although alive and healthy, deciduous plants have lost their leaves and are not actively producing any top-growth - although, once planted, the roots will be working to settle in to their new location. We recommend that you arrange to plant your tree(s) as soon as possible after delivery, and at least within 2 to 3 days. If they cannot be planted immediately, we would recommend that they are kept in their original packaging out of the wind in a frost-free place like a shed, outhouse or garage. Stakes & TiesWe are aware that we keep banging on about setting your young trees tied to stout stakes!! We promise that it is not because we have a huge job-lot of stakes and ties we are desperate to get rid of! It's because it is good horticultural practice
